Yvonne Elizabeth Northcutt Hickey, (Bonnie) (BA’41), was born June 4, 1919 to Forrest Clifton and Laura May Matteson Northcutt in Denver, CO and passed away at home in Denver on May 22, 2012. She was a graduate of East High School and received her BA from the University of Colorado in 1941, where she met her late husband, Jim. Bonnie was active in many organizations including the Cerebral Palsy Association, Colorado Republican Party, Colorado Symphony Debutante Ball Committee, Foreign Affairs, Junior League of Denver, Kappa Kappa Gamma, PTA, Scio Art and Literature Club, Tuesday Morning Class, the University of Colorado Athletic Foundation and Whiz Kids. She loved bridge, golf and water aerobics, was an avid reader and a sports and theatre patron. One of Bonnie’s gifts was letting almost everyone she met feel they had value and life was as special as her smile. Bonnie’s passion was her family and she was known to them, and others, as Grum. Grum was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Dale Hickey and sister Dorothy May Kearns-Hodgson-Stiffler. She is survived by her younger sister Florence, Puddy, Seccombe, four daughters: Patricia Jump (William Sims), Meredith Anderson (John Leonard), Judith Fahrenkrog (Larry W. King), and Susan Hickey, 7 grandchildren: W. Mark Jump (Brenda), W. Clark Jump (Tara), Stacey E. Kelly, Mallory L. Parra (Daniel), Merrin E. Jump, Joy E. Foster (Tim), and April M. Fahrenkrog, and 15 great grandchildren. Private family services will be held.
