We honor our 10 alums we lost in 9/11

They were CU graduates, chasing their dreams and touching many lives along the way. Some had children, wives, husbands, fiancés. All 10 were killed in the September 11, 2001, attacks, eight in the World Trade Center and two on the airplane that crashed into the Pentagon.

To remember and honor them, about 40 people, including families of the victims, gathered five years later at the new Wolf Law School for the CU 9/11 memorial plaque dedication ceremony. The hour-long ceremony included a moving tribute by Mike Faughnan, the brother of Chris Faughnan (Fin’86), who reminded the audience that “(Chris’s) battle, our family’s battle, is not one of hatred, anger and retaliation . . . your weapons are your goodwill.”

We remember the Forever Buffs we lost Sept. 11, 2001:

Chandler “Chad” Keller (Aero’93)

Leslie Whittington Falkenburg (MEcon’87, PhD’89)

Christopher Faughnan (Fin’86)
